Had this for over two months now and WOW! "Crispy fries at last!"
Seriously, I have missed crispy food since restaurants seemed to stop (esp. fries)
This unit heats to 375 degrees (it does take about 7 to 10 minutes, but that's average)
Easy to clean, and parts all come out for easy access and all but the heating element can be tossed into the dish washer...
The only thing I recommend is buying an extra oil reservoir for oil changes....
I rarely recommend 5 stars, but after 2 months... the Waring got it.... Now if they could fix it so I could eat fried foods without the calories ;-D

With its powerful 1800-watt immersion-style heating element for fast heat-up and recovery time, this deep fryer cooks up to 2-1/5 pounds of food quickly and crisply without that greasy fried-food feeling. Simply fill the heavy-duty mesh basket with food, lower into the hot oil, and monitor progress through the viewing window. The domed lid ingeniously catches condensation and channels it away, keeping splattering to a minimum. Built-in safety features include a 3-foot breakaway cord, overload auto-shutoff protection, and a safety interlock system that prevents operation until the control panel has been properly mounted. Other highlights include a 1-gallon removable enamel-coated oil container with a pouring spout, a 30-minute mechanical timer, and a collapsible cool-touch handle. A permanent filter comes included, and the dishwasher-safe lid, basket, and bowl make cleanup a snap. My wife and I bought the T-fal deepfryer and we love it. I read all the reviews and noted that one person had complained of finding that his T-fal deep fryer had leaked oil all over the counter. Finding few bad reviews, we decided to buy it. Sure enough, after the fryer cooled and the oil emptied into the reservoir there was oil all over the counter. It did not take a rocket scientist to figure out the reason. When we filled it prior to turning it on, we had a gallon jug of cooking oil which we emptied into fryer. A gallon is 3.78 liters (16 cups) and the capacity of the reservoir is 3.3 liters (14 cups). We noticed when we filled it that it was slightly over the max line but did not give it a second thought. Unfortunately, when the machine cooled and the oil drained into the reservoir, the extra two cups of oil had no where to go but onto the counter. THERE IS NO FUDGE FACTOR ON THE MAX LINE, DO NOT OVERFILL IT. Any oil that is over the Max line will end up all over your counter. We learned our lesson and have not overfilled it since. After that fist incident we have used our T-fal deep fryer several times and it works perfectly. The food comes out perfect, clean up is a snap and we would never trade it for anything else.

I have just ordered another Fry-Daddy. This will be the third one that I have had over the years. It is lighweight and is just a pot that holds oil as someone said. It is so convenient and not heavy, it makes it easy to store if you do not have countertop room. There are all kinds of deep fryers, but none that does a better job than this one. I would recommend it to anyone.

Waring Pro DF55 Professional Mini 1-2/7-Pound-Capacity Stainless-Steel Deep Fryer Review

Waring Pro DF55 Professional Mini 1-2/7-Pound-Capacity Stainless-Steel Deep Fryer
Average Reviews:

I originally bought the Cuisinart CDF-100 fryer because this unit was always out of stock. This was the one I wanted. The Cusinart fried good, but clean up was a lot more time consuming. You had to pour water in the unit while its on your countertop. With this, the oil box is seperate from the base. You can throw it in the dishwasher or wash under the sink. It has a lot of plastic parts, this has a lot of stainless steel.
This basket is nice and big, the side walls of the oil box are high and probably double the size of the Cusinart, less oil splattering everywhere. The cusinart has a charcoal filter for smell. I fry with peanut oil, the oil has no smell compared with cheaper veggie or canola oil. This unit has no charcoal filter, you don't need it. Lots of condensation would occur if there was a filter. Everytime I opened the lid to the Cuisinart, I had to wipe inside of the lid, if not, the water would drip in the oil and you get the popping sounds from the oil.
So why do I have this after I have the Cusinart? The basket on the Cusinart rest on the bottom of the frying box. The interior of the box is coated with a thin non stick coating. The coating got scratched in a few spots and I'm not going to fry in that. This happened after only a few weeks after I bought here on Amazon. Amazon's policy is returned only if unopened or defective. I didn't want to deal with the hassle and just ordered this. I'll probably give Cusinart a call soon. But its not worth it to me if it will cost me money to ship it, I would rather throw it away. With this Waring unit, the basket rest on the heating elements. The heating elements do not touch the bottom.
Spend the extra few bucks for this unit and you might have to wait because this is always selling out.

Enjoy restaurant-quality fried food at home--without taking up a lot of counter space--using this mini deep fryer. Batches of French fries, battered onion rings, doughnuts, and more come out fried to crispy perfection--just lift the basket to drain. Other thoughtful design details include "power" and "ready" indicator lights, a 2-quart enamel-coated oil container with a pouring spout, stabilizing feet, and stay-cool lid, basket, and side handles. Cuisinart CDF-100 Compact 1.1-Liter Deep Fryer, Brushed Stainless Steel Review

Cuisinart CDF-100 Compact 1.1-Liter Deep Fryer, Brushed Stainless Steel

(More customer reviews)
Wow, I'm a big fan of fried foods, homemade french fries especially fried in Canola Oil. I've used industrial restaurant sized fryers and worked from a stove top. This little puppy is probably one of the best little friers I've ever seen.
Most of the negative view of this fryer can be solved by simply reading the instruction booklet. Number one complaint, the cord falls off. Well yes it does, and that is by design. The cord is held into it's socket on the fryer side with a magnet. This is so you can unplug the unit without pulling the fryer over and burning yourself with hot oil. It's a common mistake, thinking the cord is broken. If you plug this in, attach the magnet end and don't move the frier, it will not come unplugged.
Number two complaint, the basket is flimsy and falls over itself. It does not do that if you install the handle correctly. You have to squeeze the two sides and slip the pins into two holes and under a tab - the handle will never ever move in this position.
Here's what I love about this appliance, it uses a small amount of oil - around a quart / liter. We don't have fried foods very often, and I don't cook a whole chicken at once. It's just perfect for those side dishes - appetizer mozzarella sticks, egg rolls, jalapeno poppers, etc. You can do chicken fingers, fish sticks, donuts in here. Food cooks evenly and quickly. Heat up time is around 3 or 4 minutes. Cooking time varies a lot, but can be around 3 or 4 minutes.
The cover is ingeneous - it closes down tight around the top and the basket so no splashing of oil happens. Cook on the counter top with no fear of splashing oil everywhere. The carbon filter shouldn't be cleaned every use, and it prevents splashes from coming out of the lid. The clear window, can see that oil will cloud that up over time, but it's handy to see inside.
Frankly, I love this unit. It's well built, solid construction, feels good in use. Cuisinart built a good small fryer in this unit.

Easily make fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, or doughnuts with this deep fryer from Cuisinart. By filling to the maximum oil capacity of 1.1 liters, the unit's extra-wide fry basket can accommodate batches up to 3/4 of a pound. Food items float freely for crispy, even cooking, and the fryer's nonstick die-cast frying bowl includes an attached heating element to maintain selected oil temperatures for restaurant-quality results. The 1650-watt deep fryer comes equipped with an adjustable thermostat for temperatures ranging from 325 to 375 degrees F, and the timer can be set for up to 30 minutes. The deep fryer's removable fry basket rests on the basket clip to allow fried foods to drain and cool so there's no excess, clinging oil. For healthier cooking, it fries more food using less oil than most conventional fryers. Other highlights include a removable charcoal filter to trap odors when frying and a dishwasher-safe lid, fry basket, and basket handle for quick cleanup. Housed in brushed stainless steel, the space-saving deep fryer measures 11-1/4 by 8-1/4 by 7-2/5 inches and carries a three-year limited warranty.

Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer Review

Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer
Average Reviews:

I've had one of these little fryer appliances since they first became popular in the seventies. The current model is the second one I've had, being larger than the original model that came out.
For someone not needing to fry enormous amounts at one time, this little machine is ideal. It requires only a very small amount of vegetable oil. I've used it to fry chicken wings, quickly, to do french fries and onion rings, to do other smaller chicken parts, and it works beautifully. There is no thermostat; you just plug it in, wait 10 minutes, and the temp is 375. Having such a small amount of grease, it recovers heat more quickly than an electric skillet.
When you are through, if you plan to reuse the grease you can simply let the machine cool, snap the plastic top on, the put the whole thing in the fridge. I don't fry that often, and when I do, I tend to fry a lot, so usually I just discard the oil. Such a small amount is used (usually no more than 3 cups starting out) that I don't feel bad about discarding the oil.
The sides on this appliance are quite high, and splatter around the machine has never been a problem. I used common sense, though, when I fry, whether it's here or on the stove.
I'm sure the all-enclosed auto-fryers that are out on the market are nice, and if I fried a lot I'd probably get one. However, I only fry once or twice a month, and for that, this little machine is perfect. I'd recommend one to anyone--durable, simple, and does exactly what it's designed for!
