Gourmet Chef 12 Inch Chicken Fryer Review

Gourmet Chef 12 Inch Chicken Fryer
Average Reviews:

I was looking for a 12" skillet, not for chicken-frying, but for those "meals in a bag" that I occasionally cook as weekday dinners. This fryer is perfect for that purpose. It is exactly the right size (no spillage of food over the edges, and the lid fits snugly over the food). As long as you prespray with cooking spray or use cooking oil, it is exceptionally nonstick, and cleanup is fast and easy. Oh, and it also works well as a chicken fryer.
It is light and easy to handle. Mine seems to be very sturdy, and I've used it several times a week for nearly six months. For the price, you really can't beat this.

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 5-Quart Chicken Fryer with Iron Cover Review

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 5-Quart Chicken Fryer with Iron Cover

Being the proud owner of several other Lodge cooking vessels, I boldly tried my hand at frying. All I can say is wow.
The chicken fryer works wonders on chicken, veal, and cube steak. All of the cast iron properties come in to play when using the fryer, and it provides the control and the stability needed when frying foods. The heavy weight gives it stability, and the heat retention properties mean that you can control your cooking efforts more efficiently.
Try the fryer, you won't be disapointed!

Lodge cast-iron cookware has long been admired for its superior heat retention and even heat distribution, but now the company adds another enticement with its Lodge Logic line. All Lodge Logic cookware, including this 5-quart chicken fryer, comes preseasoned via a proprietary "electrostatic" vegetable oil spray system and is ready for cooking right out of the box--unlike traditional Lodge cookware, which needs seasoning in your home oven before use. During the timesaving preseasoning process, oil penetrates deeply into the cast-iron surface while a high-temperature gas oven seals it in, preserving the cookware for generations and creating an attractive heirloom finish.
The chicken fryer measures 12 inches in diameter and 3-1/4 inches deep--an ideal size for not only frying poultry, but also making casseroles, enchiladas, and pan sauces. The vessel is deeper than most skillets, and delivers a smooth, consistent temperature without wasting heat. The pan's esteemed heat retention is especially ideal for slow-cooking recipes that call for tender meats and rich, seasoned flavors. In addition, the underside of the iron lid contains several self-basting tips that encourage the condensed juices to continually remoisten the food, keeping the contents succulent and tasty. With proper care, Lodge Logic cast-iron cookware will last a lifetime. Lodge recommends hand washing the fryer, which carries a lifetime warranty, with a stiff brush and hot water.

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 10-1/4-Inch Deep Skillet Review

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 10-1/4-Inch Deep Skillet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'll keep this short and sweet; this is Lodge Logic's 3-qt. chicken fryer, without the lid. (Amazon says the chicken fryer is 4" deep, but Lodge's web site confirms both are 3" deep).
So... if you already have a 10" lid, don't need another one and want this style pot, this is a good value.
It has all the great traits you expect of Lodge Logic - excellent, even heat transmission, natural non-stick seasoning, and complete invulnerability to anything your burners can dish out. The size is very handy for things like chili for one or two, where the additional depth is welcome but a Dutch oven would be overkill, and the 10" skillet/chicken fryer/Dutch oven lid fits this pot. I'm very pleased with this deep skillet and already had a lid.
So... if you have a Lodge lid and/or have a 5-qt Dutch oven in the same order, go for this pan! If you want to get a lid with it, get the Lodge Logic chicken fryer; it's much cheaper than buying the deep skillet and lid separately.

Nordic Ware Jumbo Fryer with Cover 6 Quart Review

Nordic Ware Jumbo Fryer with Cover 6 Quart

I needed to replace my T-Fal Specialty 5-Quart Nonstick Jumbo Cooker with Glass Lid, (which Amazon also sells) and went with the Nordic Ware because it's made in America, as opposed to the T-Fal, which is made in China. Surprisingly, the T-Fal is a heftier pan than the Nordic Ware. Used the Nordic Ware for the first time last night and it performed well. How it will hold up is anybody's guess. I got about two years out of the T-Fal. As always, with non-stick, the key is to cook with low to moderate heat.

I read the first review and thought the complaint was with the shipping. So I purchased the Heuck to get away frome teflon. It arrived in 3 boxes within one The original manufacture box, inside another box then a box for that one. Ours arrived in great condition. BTW the red colour is a pleasent red not and orange red. I tested it for lead content with a home kit and it passed with flying colours. This has become our favorite pan, we are glad we ordered the one with the lid.

This frying pan does everything one could ask. It cooks evenly, and cleans up easily. It has a substantial feel to it. Nice lid. It looks nice. My only concern is whether the handle will hold up over the long haul, as it flexes a bit when lifted with the pan full. So far, it is great!

Innova Classicor Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Chicken Fryer with Lid Review

Innova Classicor Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Chicken Fryer with Lid
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this item and used it for only one month before it broke. The problem is that the basin holds more weight than the handle can manage. So with a pound and half of cooked stuff in the fryer, if you lift from the handle, it will break at the joint. Even though All-Clad is much more expensive, you're better off going with their chicken fryer because they bolt the handle to the basin (whereas Innova just staples the handle on). In fact, most other brands bolt the handle on to their chicken fryers. I don't know why Innova hasn't caught on.
I still gave 2 stars because the company accepted the return, although I did have to pay shipping.

Lodge Logic 3-Quart Pre-Seasoned Chicken Fryer Review

Lodge Logic 3-Quart Pre-Seasoned Chicken Fryer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I own three pieces of cast iron cookware, and this item is one of them... and among my favorite cooking implements, period. For dishes requiring steady, even heat and for cooks who require durable cookware with easy clean-up, cast iron CANNOT be beat!
This fryer is going to last forever. Its care is easy: I scrub it with hot water only, and dry it with an old rag and apply a thin layer of vegetable oil while the iron is still hot... a year and a half later, it's still rust-free and delivering the reliable service I have come to expect and admire. No scratches interfere with its performance, as is the case with my allegedly-long-lasting Wearever nonstick cookware set (what a waste of money THAT was!). In fact, in this particular chicken fryer, I've produced everything from french fries to spaghetti sauce to eggs and bacon to french toast! It's a dependable griddle, skillet, grill, and pot, and it goes right from the stovetop and into the oven for maximum versatility.
The best thing about the chicken fryer is its somewhat smaller circumference than the skillet or the Dutch oven. It takes up a bit less stovetop space and provides greater depth, making it ideal for small batches of soups, stews, or deep-fried goodies.
I am an avid home-chef, and I can say without exception that my cast-iron cookware is the best kitchen investment I've ever made.

I have ordered several different cast iron pans over the past few months. This one is by far the best. It comes very well seasoned and cooks excellent right from the start. Just make sure you take the time to re-season it and care for it correctly. I was a little disappointed to find out that the cover is only heat safe to 350 degrees while the pan is safe to 500 degrees but not a big deal.

Don't just purchase a piece of cookware purchase cast iron cookware that will last for generations. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, casseroles, cakes and pies somehow taste better when cooked in heavy pre-seasoned cast-iron cookware.
